About Ph'Kaki Media & Design
What’s in a Name?
What in the world is a Ph’Kaki? Is it a noun? Verb? Adjective? All three could apply. The word Ph’Kaki is a phonetic amalgamation of the last two words of a monologue delivered by a lead actor in a major motion picture in 1999. The movie centered on our culture, marketing, consumer value, and corporate malevolence. The name is a tongue-in-cheek take on these concepts and our industry as well as our approach to design and the creative process.

In The Begining
Ph’Kaki started in 2000 as an idea for a new media marketing company specializing in Flash applications and interactive marketing materials. Due to the dot-com crash and the economy at the time this idea was shelved until one of the original founding members, Ezju revised company in 2006 as a media and design company with a serious slant on entertainment.
Ezju went on to persue other projects including his internationally known Coffee Culture painting series where coffee was not only the subject but also the medium. You can view this portfolio at www.nosuchanimal.net. Ph’Kaki’s other founding partner, Joe Menth, went on to start an Art Gallery on Whidbey Island, WA. and later he opened his latest endeavor, Fine Balance Imaging Studios (also on Whidbey Island). Ph’Kaki and Fine Balance still have a strong working relationship with much of Ph’Kaki’s printing needs being met by Fine Balance.
