Cleo of Moses and Cleo is the companion piece to the equally graphic and compelling wet charcoal painting Moses. Cleo was brazen and head strong striking out at curiosities intrigue or so the story goes. Always meaning well but not always landing on all fours Cleo's heart often breached the boundaries of safety and reality or so the story goes.

BIOTAN
Unorthodox methods such as scanning in tangible objects, combining them with photographic elements, and enhancing with digital effects is just one innovative technique utilized by Ph'Kaki Stylists. BIOTAN is a tong-in-cheek look at the tanning bed industry designed using scanned in dolls, molten metal from a construction site, images of a girl and circuitry, and special effects achieved by using Adobe Photoshop.

First Contact
Editorial illustration can take many forms. In the case of First Contact the subject was a very serious story that took place back in 1997 about a comet, Hale-Bopp, and a cult group known as Heaven's Gate which had it's members commit suicide to gain access to an alien spacecraft which was reportedly following in the comet's tail.

Daddy's Little Girl, Nikita
Conceptual conveyance is a specialty of Ph'Kaki artists. Irony in creativity is also a specialty of our stylists. The concept in Daddy's Little Girl, Nikita is the idea that pets are considered children by some owners and the irony is that the background pattern of this illustration was achieved by manipulating cat litter during several applications of pigment using an airbrush.

The Morning News
The cover of a magazine is always considered a prize for an illustrator. The Morning News was created for the cover of WHERE? magazine, the Seattle edition. It was also featured on KOMO 4 News by John Sharify and again during a live interview with the artist, Ezju, with Kathy Goertzen also of KOMO 4 news.

Little Boy
Some moments define an era. When Ph'Kaki founder Ezju first arrived in Seattle he was there as a tourist and one of his first encounters was with a small boy, also a tourist, in Pioneer Square. Life changed for him that day and this illustration was the outcome.

Who Am I is a children's book illustrated by Ph'Kaki's founding member about a boy with amnesia and his faithful Teddy Bear who helps him remember his family and all the good times they had together. The choice of medium as well as the type of surface painted on helped this illustration project find a look and feel all it's own.

Surreal depiction of a soon to be mythological creature that has already saved the world from an invasion by SPAM and are the disembodied spirits of alien creatures inhabiting the limbs of humans! What? This is a fine line drawing of a character concept as well as a study in human anatomy. Either way you take it, it's a bit fun!
