BIOTAN is a tong-in-cheek look at the tanning bed industry designed using scanned in dolls, molten metal from a construction site, images of a girl and circuitry, and special effects achieved by using Adobe Photoshop.

In the case of First Contact the subject was a very serious story that took place back in 1997 about a comet, Hale-Bopp, and a cult group known as Heaven's Gate which had it's members commit suicide to gain access to an alien spacecraft which was reportedly following in the comet's tail.

The concept in Daddy's Little Girl, Nikita is the idea that pets are considered children by some owners and the irony is that the background pattern of this illustration was achieved by manipulating cat litter during several applications of pigment using an airbrush.
